Uxendon
Manor is a thriving three form entry school in North West London. We have just
completed a building program which has provided us with a new modern teaching
block and hall.
Our
friendly, forward thinking school is looking to appoint an assistant caretaker
on a temporary basis with potential to become permanent.
The
main duties:
- Provide
an effective caretaking service. - Take
responsibility for all contractors visiting site and act as point of contact
for any enquiries. - Act
as keyholder for the school and ensure all entry points are open in the morning
and locked at end of the school day - Carry
out decorating/basic handyman work such as painting, changing bulbs. - Reading
meters and recording readings - Manage
heating/hot water supply for the school and report any problems - Accept
and sign for deliveries - Assist
with letting in evenings and over weekends when needed. - Replenish
consumables (soap in the toilets etc) - Empty
and refresh all internal and external bins - Take
care of any emergency cleaning – spillages, leaks, acts of vandalism
An
ideal person will:
- Have
previous caretaker experience or understanding of the workings within a
school - Have
basic handyman knowledge - Be
a good team player but also have the ability to work unsupervised - Be
able to prioritise their workload - Be
a good communicator and be respectful of the needs and wishes of
others - Be
reliable with a friendly, approachable nature - Be
confident when dealing with a range of different people
